Personal Peace ...... a state of being that comes from living in harmony with the teachings and will of Jesus Christ, your God and creator. We follow a living Jesus, who desires to take an active part in the lives of His people, but who has such high regard for our right to choose, that he will not force himself upon us. Rather, He invites and encourages us to choose to invite Him to be a life partner with us. As we individually make that choice, inviting the God of the universe to become a part of our daily life, we free Him to assist us in our daily decisions, temptations and challenges. Together, in this partnership, Jesus works through the presence of His Holy Spirit, to help help us to make the decisions that will continue us on the journey toward the personal peace that He envisions for our lives. We cannot achieve this level of peace by ourselves -- only through surrender to and joint creation with Jesus.
At 12:30 p.m. each day, the public is invited to gather in the Temple Sanctuary in Independence, Missouri for our daily Prayer for Peace. This 15-minute worship focuses the congregation on the importance of peace in our individual lives, in our families and communities, and in the nations around the world. You can use this experience to enhance your personal meditation time, your personal commitment to world peace, or to share in a congregational worship experiences. If you can't be physically in Independence for this event, you can use the published "Order of Worship" at the above link, and have your own time of meditation and worship, as you work toward a greater understanding of the peace of Jesus Christ. This journey toward peace is necessary for YOU, before you will be comfortable living in the presence of Jesus Christ, both in this life and in eternity. The Community of Christ offers you a world-wide community-focused foundation of loving, accepting people who represent Jesus Christ to the best of their ability, and invite you to participate in the life-long journey toward Peace, Reconciliation, and Healing of the Spirit. Contact a Community of Christ Congregation here around Illinois, or in over 50 nations around the world, to begin to explore the path toward a life of true peace in Christ.
