Healing of the Spirit

You are a Spiritual Being...

...living at this time in a Physical Body

As such, the decisions that YOU make in THIS LIFE are even now forming your present and your future.  Too many of us consider this short, mortal life as "expendable" -- a throw away item that we can waste with poor decisions, hiding from accountability and from God, and living a life of selfishness and greed.

In reality, God created the spiritual YOU, and proclaimed you to be "good".  You lived with Him in the realms of eternity.  But due to the difficulty that Adam and Eve had in learning to follow the commandments and laws of God while in this physical life, we EACH are required to live in this probationary period on earth, and choose for ourselves.

He then allowed you to participate in this life, by giving you a body in which your spirit can live.  The spirit and the body together form the soul of man.   During this physical life, our task is to experience both good and evil, and make a choice that will last through eternity. 

Satan wants you to follow his way of life:  selfishness, promiscuity, substance abuse, separation from God. 

Jesus Christ, on the other hand, stands before you, with his hand outstretched, inviting you to follow the plain and precious truths of the Gospel that leads to eternal life with Him.

Jesus came into this world that He created, to live among us as a man, to show us that we CAN live sin-free in a sin-infested world.  As we work toward that goal that he set before us, we free Him to work even more closely with us in this life.

So, what separates us from Jesus?  For most of us, the separation is there because of sin -- thoughts, choices and actions that move us away from God's forgiving, healing, loving presence.

After you have done everything that YOU can to "fix" your life (confess your sins; repent; seek forgiveness from yourself, from others and from God; be baptized; received the gift of the Holy Spirit; follow Christ's teachings; live a Christian life-style; etc.), it is only through the grace and gift of Jesus that will take you the rest of the way to salvation.  It is through God's infinite patience, forgiveness and love for you, and through his people in the church, that you can be freed from the brokenness in your Spirit -- and reach the real healing that He desires for you:   The healing of your Spirit! 

This healing is necessary for YOU, before you will be comfortable living in the presence of Jesus Christ, both in this life and in eternity.  The Community of Christ offers you a world-wide community-focused foundation of loving, accepting people who represent Jesus Christ to the best of their ability, and invite you to participate in the life-long journey toward Peace, Reconciliation, and Healing of the Spirit.
