Blessed to Be a Blessing Class Offered

In September of 1997, we began a program from the Presiding Evangelist, entitled "Blessed to be a Blessing". As we seek for new ways to respond to God's call in our lives, we need to continually expand our vision of the world to which He has called us to minister and we feel that the Blessed to be a Blessing program can help us do just that.

We have already shared this program with several congregations, and have had reasonably good response as far as numbers attending, and many good comments for the content and quality of the program. Blessed to be a Blessing is a part of an overall program to help each one become more aware of the blessings that are available to us and through us in blessing others. As an integral part of the Transformation 2000 program we hope to share Blessed to be a Blessing with every member of the district and any others, either in the congregational setting, at district reunion or if you are unable to share in one of those, we would be glad to share with you in your home, or a friends home.

The program has worship segments, a video which is in five parts, with a total viewing time of 1 hour and 44 minutes, and discussion suggestions with each segment of the video.   The materials and sessions focus on the ministry of blessing for and by the church to its members and friends.

The basic goals of the course are:

1. To help build a more deeply committed and caring community who have new eyes to see the blessings of God.
2. To encourage us to serve as instruments of God's blessing with all peoples of the world.
3. To help each one  understand more fully the ministry of evangelist as ministers of blessing and the sacrament of the Evangelist's Blessing.

We would encourage each one to make the effort to share in this program.  I would only hope that we would want to be a part of the blessings that we see others sharing as we view the video and share in the Blessed to be a Blessing worship and discussions.

Pastors and congregational leaders:  if this program has not been presented in your congregation, please help us in getting a time to present it. We want you and your congregation to be blessed and to be a blessing to others.
