Jim Elledge, EvangelistJim Elledge, of Beardstown IL, holds the priesthood office of Evangelist. He was ordained as an Evangelist in 1986. Earlier during his 52 years of ministry, he has also served in the following offices:
Jim has served in nearly every leadership role for local congregations, as well as several leadership roles at the district level. He has served as pastor 6 times, including: Danville IL, Casey IL, Kankakee IL, Springfield IL, and most recently, in Beardstown IL. He was born in Augusta, Georgia. His family currently consists of 2 boys, 2 girls, and as a widower, he is now married to Eve Brown. Jim has several grand children and one great grand daughter. Jim currently serves the Beardstown congregation as Librarian, Temple school leader with Eve, Spiritual Pastor, and Branch Auditor. Jim represents the Community of Christ on the Beardstown Area Ministerial Association, having served as treasurer, and now serving as Vice President. He serves on the board for local housing for low income families. Jim writes articles for the local weekly one month each year, and has been speaker at several public meetings. Jim is a retired public school teacher, having taught for 38 years, holds a Masters degree plus additional hours. He has completed "lots" of Temple School courses, to further his ministerial capacity and capabilities. In his ministry, Jim has traveled all over central Illinois District, as well as the Northeastern Illinois District, Ohio, Iowa, and Tennessee, as well as many other locations. His favorite quote is: "It is better to try and fail than not try at all", and Jim lives out this quote.
