Charlie Carter
Charlie Carter is a minister for the Community of Christ, holding the
priesthood office of Seventy since 1994. Prior to his ordination as a
Seventy, Charlie served as both a Priest and Elder. His present assignment
is serving as the Brush Creek Mission Center
Missionary Coordinator.
Through his years of experience, Charlie has held a wide variety of
leadership roles in various jurisdictions of the church, including:
- East Central States volunteer Witnessing Team with Appointee Delbert
Smith (office in St. Charles, MO)
- Executive Minister-Missionary/Youth (Santa Rosa, CA)
- Executive Minister-Program Director/Administration/Missionary (Wichita,
KS)

- Regional Missionary Coordinator - S.E. Region (office in Springfield,
MO)
- MC Missionary Coordinator – Sierra Pacific MC (office in Manteca, CA)
- Pastor: Salem, OR; Greenville, SC; Springfield, MO; Walnut Creek, CA.
- Graceland Agape House Chaplain, Graceland Council for Spiritual

Charlie, along with his wife Barbara, reside in Salem, IL. Barbara
serves as a World Church Appointee: E. Central Field Administrative Officer.
They have one daughter, Chelsea Carter, a Senior at Graceland University
(as of 9/09).
Charlie's educational experience includes:
- BA Special Studies, emphasis in Church Leadership & Human Relations
(Graceland College)
- 2 sessions (4 classes) and one Independent Study with the Church’s
Master’s of Religion program
- Multiple Church Growth Training events
- 34+ years of practice in Daily Spiritual Disciplines and reading Good
Books.
His favorite quote is: “The way we treat people is the way we treat
God.”
Charlie's passion is sharing the invitation of Jesus. He engages
people, at their point of need. Charlie says:
"If I was sharing in a personal conversation, I would want to know: what
are their questions, what’s their story, and then, if they’re interested,
what’s my story. My story: when God/Christ is at the center… people and the
world become what God created us to be."
