Bob Kyser

 

Robert R. Kyser, II, a minister for the Community of Christ, is currently serving as Staff Pastor for the employed staff of the church.

Previously he served as Senior President of Seventy (1998-2010) and Field Missionary Coordinator for the Central and South America Field (2007-2010). A full-time minister since 1977, he holds the priesthood office of seventy. Other assignments have included the North Central Region-Canada and U.S.A., East Central States Region, St. Louis Stake and Advanced Leadership Studies.

A native of Miami, Oklahoma, Bob graduated from the Woodroffe High School in Ottawa, Ontario. He received a B.A. in history from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, and an M.A. in international affairs from George Washington University. Kyser has also studied at the Defense Language Institute.

He served in the U.S. Army and worked in Germany as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Previously, Bob was a compliance investigator with the Drug Enforcement Administration, and a house parent for the Quad County Group Homes for Emotionally Disturbed Children. Bob’s other church responsibilities have included serving as a chaplain at Graceland College, bishop's agent, administrative assistant to the branch president, a counselor to the presiding elder, missionary coordinator and youth leader.

Mr. Kyser is married to Diane Louise Loving Kyser. They have two adult sons who are married with two grandchildren, Jack and Colin.
